Seed For Plastic

A community initiative that exchanges responsibly collected plastic waste for seeds, connecting cleaner neighbourhoods with practical opportunities to grow plants.

Purpose

To reduce plastic litter, encourage responsible recycling and help households, schools and communities take part in local planting through a simple plastic-for-seeds exchange.

Bring a plastic bottle and take home a seed. Join Laila Kibria Foundation and volunteers from Boi-bondu for a community exchange promoting responsible plastic collection and greener neighbourhoods.

Planned activities

Organise accessible community plastic collection points
Sort, record and transfer collected plastic to responsible recycling partners
Provide suitable vegetable, fruit or tree seeds in exchange for eligible plastic
Share simple guidance on planting, care and responsible waste disposal
Engage schools, young people, volunteers and community groups
Track plastic collected, seeds distributed and community participation
